Mother Nature is doing her part in helping the lawns here in the Denver/Parker CO. metro area. You see it's at this time in February and March that the mites are typically active in destroying lawns. Last year we had extensive mite damage due to the mild and dry Winter we had last year. It was actually drought conditions. We had to seed a number of our client's lawns last year due to mite damage in Denver/Parker CO. While we were still busy Deep Root Winter Watering trees and shrubs, the mites were busy munching on the lawns! Actually mites are a piercing/sucking insect that suck the juice out of the leaf blades of turf grasses. It is very beneficial to water your lawn and trees through the Winter months, especially through the mild and dry periods. This Winter however, we have gotten an unusual amount of snow and cold here in the Denver/Parker CO. area. Another benefit of this  water during these months is that it drowns out the mites and the cold kills them as well. So, Mother Nature is doing her part to help our lawns here in Denver/Parker CO. this Winter of 2012. For more tips for your lawn and trees please go to http://www.wienslawncare.com/lawntips.html and  http://www.wienslawnandtreecare.com
