Fall checklist.

Fall is upon us here in Denver/Parker CO. The night time low temps are dipping into the 40's and 50's and occasionally the highs are in the 70's which is a sure sign that "fall is in the air!" We are still having some very warm days with highs in the lower 90's and upper 80's though. It's kind of nice because I'm NOT ready for Summer to be over yet! UGH! Although a change from mowing and aeration/overseeding lawns will be a welcome change. I seeded damaged and destroyed lawns all Summer long! You can see some of them on the About Us page of my website @  Your Fall checklist should consist of things like: A. Fall aeration on your lawn. B. Winterizer fertilizer on your lawn. C. Blowing out your sprinkler system getting it ready for Winter. Some experts say the Fall fertilizer application is the most vital and important one all year because your lawn is the most receptive to taking up the nitrogen and storing energy for the Winter when it goes dormant on the top side but the roots continue to grow and develop through the Winter. It also aids to an early Spring green up. We will be applying a granular sulfur coated urea, slow release nitrogen 32-5-7 fertilizer on our client's lawns at Wiens Lawn and Tree Care.
